Tree-planting initiatives, including the World Economic Forum’s 1 Trillion Trees project ( launched in 2020, are a popular way to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss. But challenges such as quantifying carbon stored, the time it takes trees to grow and competing land uses mean that these projects are increasingly supplemented with a swifter solution: pollinator protection.
